About

• Name: Diana Ljungaeus

• Art medium: Acrylic.

I was born a doodler in Sweden.
My first career was as a journalist, but art has always been close by. I took up painting early on, and went to art school for a few years—all while also supporting myself as a writer.

After landing in Los Angeles as a foreign correspondent in the late 1990’s,  I all but stopped painting until the creative urge was reborn a few years ago, and I was back in front of the easel.
An art studio in my back yard has given me free reign to my rediscovered impulses .

While continuing to work a full time job, I joyfully paint every available minute.

Art simply  makes me happy! Both making art and being inspired by other artists and their work.

I am endlessly stimulated by my garden, my animals and my friends,  old and new-- which are often the subjects of my paintings.

Artists I studied with: Elmar Pilups, Henrik Blaszczyk, Leah Kohlenberg, Lado Pochkhua.
